Khlong Takhian In Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Khlong Takhian Subdistrict is an ancient community from the Ayutthaya period. It is located in the south of the city island. There is a large canal that serves as a route for logging, hence the name "Khlong Takhian". It is also a Malay-Cham community.

.
Phra Kring Khlong Takhian This is an ancient amulet from the ancient capital of Ayutthaya. It is believed that it was first discovered in the area of Khlong Takhian during the reign of King Rama IV (around 4). The amulet was discovered at Wat Khok Khaek, a temple surrounded by Muslim communities and where Khlong Takhian flows through. A crack in the amulet's crypt led to the discovery of a uniquely shaped amulet. This amulet is made of powder and produces a loud noise when shaken, due to the presence of Buddha's relics inside. It was thus nicknamed "Khlong Takhian" (Kring Khlong Takhian), which is the original location where the amulet was first discovered. From Wat Khok Khaek, it was later renamed "Wat Kring Khlong Takhian" and later renamed "Wat Khok Jindaram". Excavations in Khlong Takhian subdistrict uncovered more amulets of this type scattered throughout the area, such as at Wat Pradu Songtham, Wat Chang Pakran, Wat Jindaram, Wat Samphao Lom, and the abandoned temples of Khlong Takhian.

Buddha's characteristics - materials

.
Phra Kring Khlong Takhian: The Buddha image is in the Mara-Vijaya posture, sitting on a high base. Some have three-tiered bases, seated under a Bodhi tree, covered with Bodhi leaves for shade. It resembles the Phra Kong Lamphun, with a high peak and a round, convex face with no details. The back is round and round, and every image has inscribed characters. Some are special because they have the Buddha image on both the front and back, resembling the Phra Kong Lamphun. It is assumed that... they were created by a monk renowned for his magical powers, and that they were created by the same monk, as the handwriting used to inscribe the characters is the same.
Klong Takhian Buddha amulet is made from clay mixed with burnt palm leaf powder, a hundred and eight herbs, sacred substances, and auspicious flower pollen. A hollow is drilled in the center to hold a bell pellet, which is obtained from a Buddha amulet. When shaken, it makes a loud noise.
The inscriptions on the Klong Takhian Buddha amulets often contain the numbers 3 and 4, which are assumed to be an abbreviation of the mantra 3, meaning Ma, A, U, while the number 4 represents Na, Ma, Pa, Tha. This unique characteristic is found in the Klong Takhian Buddha amulets of Wat Kok Chinda and Wat Chang.
Phra Kring Klong Takhian was discovered only in Ayutthaya. It can be divided into 3 colors: black, yellowish-green, and grayish-green. There are 5 types in total: large-faced, raised-shouldered type / double-faced type / small-faced type / closed-eye type / special type, closed-eye, hermit face (very rare).

The legend of the creator of Phra Kring
.
There is a legend about the monk who created the Klong Takhian bell amulet that says…
– Because the Buddha image resembles the Phra Kong Lamphun, it is believed that it was likely a monk from the northern region who had wandered down to Ayutthaya and created this Buddha image, while preserving the Hariphunchai style of art. The Buddha image therefore resembles a Buddha image from the northern region.
– Legend tells of Khrua Rod, or Luang Pu Rod, the abbot of Wat Pradu Songtham (said to have mastered the Tiger Spirit spell), who created it. This Luang Pu Rod is very sacred and is highly revered by the villagers. Luang Pu Rod created the amulets to distribute to the townspeople and soldiers to fight the Burmese army before the fall of Ayutthaya. After the fall of Ayutthaya, he disappeared. When the situation calmed down, he returned to rule Wat Pradu Songtham until his death.
