Father Sod : Phra Phong Wat Pak Nam

.

Luang Pu Sod of Wat Paknam, Phasi Charoen (Phra Mongkolthepmuni) had the idea to create a gift amulet to raise funds for the construction of a Buddhist school. During his lifetime, he created three editions of "Wat Paknam's Phong" or "Wat Paknam's gift amulets", 3 amulets in each edition, bringing the total number of Wat Paknam's gift amulets to 84,000. The mold is rectangular and features the image of the Lord Buddha in the First Sermon posture. The first edition of the gift amulets was created in 252,000 onwards.

This amulet will be given to those who have contributed to the construction of the school by donating 25 baht or more as a memento of their merit and remembrance of the Lord Buddha. Luang Pu Sod will give only one amulet per person, regardless of how much merit a person makes. Furthermore, it cannot be given to someone else. Even if you receive it and lose it, you cannot come and get it again. Luang Pu Sod said, "Each gifted amulet already has an owner."

The Phra Phong Khwan amulets from Wat Paknam consist of ten molds made from brass. Luang Phuminat Sanit (Sueb Tangkrat) commissioned a carver to present them to Luang Pu Sod, who meticulously crafted the amulets. These amulets contain fragrant flowers used in morning and evening offerings, such as jasmine, lotus, and pollen. These flowers are dried and ground into flour, and most importantly, Luang Pu Sod's hair is mixed in. After the mixing, they are shaped into lumps and pressed into blocks to create the Phra Khwan amulets. Luang Pu Sod then performed a ceremony to imbue them with the power of the Buddha, based on Dhammakaya principles, throughout the Buddhist Lent, before distributing them.

Its Buddhist virtues are renowned for their kindness, popularity, great fortune, safety, and invulnerability. It is said that if you have a monk from Wat Paknam with you, you will not die in water, on land, or in the air. You will never run out of wealth and be worth a billion baht. If you wish for something, pray for it and it will all come true.

Gift Buddha, Model 1

Created in the year 2493, there were 84,000 pieces and they were distributed starting on the 6th waning moon day of the 11th month of the same year, on the auspicious occasion of his birthday, at the Ubosot, Wan Pak Nam, Phasi Charoen, until they ran out in the year 2497.

The first generation of Phra Khwan amulets are available in both shellac-coated and unshellac-coated forms. The color of the amulets is generally white, cream-colored, or yellowish-white. There are also a few that are dark brown or light brown. The amulets are mostly fluffy and not very dense or durable, but some are also hard and dense.

The gift of the Buddha Generation 2

Created in 2494 (after the creation of the first generation of Phra Khwan amulets for only one year), the number of amulets created was 1. They began to be distributed in 84,000 and ran out in 2497 (after Luang Pu Sod's death). All 2505 molds from the first generation were used. This generation of Phra Phong amulets is completely coated with shellac to preserve the material of the amulet for durability.

The gift of the Buddha Remaining model*

After Luang Pu passed away, there were still amulets from the 1st and 2nd generations that were in imperfect condition, cracked, had shallow prints, or were distorted and not beautiful, so they were not distributed. Wat Paknam therefore brought out these amulets to distribute. People generally call them the remaining amulets.

(*These remaining Buddha amulets have undergone a ceremony to imbue them with the power of the Buddha according to the principles of Dhammakaya by Luang Pu Sod, just like the Buddha amulets he created in every respect.)

Gift Buddha, Model 3

Created in 2499, there were 84,000 of these amulets. The ceremony to imbue them with the power of the Buddha was held according to the principles of Dhammakaya by Luang Pu Sod. After 3 years of his death, the temple brought these 3rd edition amulets for the public to rent and worship.

It began to be distributed from 2505 onwards until it ran out in 2514.
