The miracle of Luang Pho To

1. It is said that when the Ubosot was newly built, the door opening of the Ubosot was measured and the Luang Pho To was larger. It turned out that the door opening was about 5 inches larger than the Luang Pho To, which allowed the Luang Pho To to pass through.

But when it was time to invite the monks to enter the chapel, it turned out that the large Luang Pho To was much larger than the door. The committee and some people thought that the door should be broken down. However, some people believed in the sacredness and miracles of Luang Pho To, so they prayed that Luang Pho To would be able to pass through the door so that he would be a blessing to protect the people of Bang Phli forever. When the prayer was complete, they invited Luang Pho To to pass through the chapel door easily.

2. Miraculous events occurred with Luang Por To in 2520 and 2522. The Luang Por To statue, which was cast from bronze, became as soft as human flesh, and became famous news that spread widely in every newspaper. The news caused the general public who were devoted to Luang Por To from all directions to travel to admire his greatness.

3. The holy water of Luang Pho To can heal sick people and make them recover. Regarding this matter, Thanpuying Bunlong Phahon Phonphayuhasena, aged 68, wife of General Phraya Phahon Phonphayuhasena, former Prime Minister, told those close to her that she was once seriously ill with cancer in the throat, under her tongue, which was very painful. She could not eat or sleep for a whole year until her body became worrisomely thin.

The doctor recommended surgery or radiation, but she requested herbal medicine and modern medicine pills instead, but it did not help relieve the cancer in her throat. The pain was so excruciating that she thought she would definitely die.

Not long after, someone came to tell her that the Buddha statue that the villagers called “Luang Pho To, Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai” had soft flesh like a human being, and was very sacred. It could cure various diseases. Thanpuying therefore traveled to pay homage to Luang Pho To and prayed that if she had the good fortune to live on, she would let Luang Pho To have soft skin that would miraculously appear. After focusing her mind, Thanpuying reached out to touch the Buddha statue. Immediately, she got goosebumps with joy when the metal surface that her finger pressed dented according to the pressure, miraculously like human skin.

Thanpuying bowed to pay respect to Luang Pho To with devotion and asked for Luang Pho To's holy oil from the temple to apply to the wound under her tongue and the outside of her throat, and sipped it while drinking. It didn't take long for the swollen lump under her tongue to burst out of her throat, and Thanpuying's illness disappeared day after day.

This miraculous story was recorded in the story “The Floor Dies” by Mr. Sanit Thanarak, a senior journalist.

Bang Phli people believe in the sacredness and power of Luang Pho To that he can protect the people of Bang Phli community from danger, safety, and illness. This is the sacredness of Luang Pho To that shows miraculous miracles for those who have faith in Luang Pho To at Wat Bang Phli Yai Nai.
